  • Remembrance Day, Colour Party
    16-11-2006
Members of the Central Explorer Scout unit were selected to carry the Union Jack at this year's Tonbridge Remembrance Day parade. A fanastic turn out from both the Central and Sea Explorer Scout units. Many thanks to all those who attended and our members of the 17th Tonbridge Scout and Guide Band.
  • County Master Chef 2006
    15-10-2006
It was a normal boring autumn’s day when something amazing happened… groups from all over Kent came together to make a 3-course meal. Each group had £20 pounds to spend on the food. Representing Tonbridge was Sophie (the leader) Adam, Dom and Emma. Their starter was sautéed potatoes covered with a spot of rosemary with a saucy salsa dip. For the main course was a spicy and colourful curry, and lastly an incredible pineapple dish with the most dazzling cream sauce on top that Sophie made!!! But anyways the Tonbridge team also decided that it would be one big laugh if they all dressed up in random dressing up clothes so we ended up having a very pretty fairy, 118-118 man with a very funny wig, and 2 very freaky and scary people that really had no right to wear what they were wearing!!!! The team Tonbridge made everything to the highest of standards, even better than Jamie Oliver. They then got judged by some of Kent’s leaders and unbelievably they lose to Weald and another team!!! So they all started to cry and stomped home in anger. Only joking they had lots of fun and really, really want to do it again next year!!!!

  • Sea Explorers Rafting Champions
    20-07-2006
Tonbridge's Sea Explorer Scout Unit put their much practised raft making to the test and were able to assert their dominance on water over teams from other Units from across the District by taking an easy victory in the inaugural District Explorers' Raft Race. Four teams, one from the Sea Explorer Unit, one from the Low Weald Unit, and 2 from the Central Tonbridge Unit took up the challenge, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves - it's the taking part that counts - and the sausages were well appreciated when all he fun was over!
Thanks to Denise and Martin and all at the Sea Explorers for making the whole evenign possible.

If you'd like to do more water activities contact any of your Leaders NOW - there are lots of opportunities coming up in the next few months!

  • Circus thrills workshop
    18-05-2006
Explorer Scouts from Tonbridge's Central, Sea, and Low Weald Units had the opportunity to take part in a circus skills workshop from Kent's very own 'Topper'. After a quick demonstration (featuring the one and only Steven!), Explorers and Leaders got well and truly stuck in with juggling, diablos, devil sticks, spinning plates, uni-cycles and all sorts of other circus skills besides. Photos will appear in the Photo Gallery soon.
  • Founder Results 2006
    09-05-2006
The Central Unit have once again held onto the Exploit trophy, but only just. A young leader team from the 3rd Tonbridge drew with the Central Unit and for the first time ever a shared trophy has been awarded. More teams were entered this year than ever. A great day was had by all and a huge well done to those who took part.
